Social Media Policy
IHI Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) and its group companies (hereinafter referred to as the “Company Group”) shall use social media as a communication tool on the Internet, and comply with the following action guidelines and stances when using it.
Purpose of Use
The Company Group uses various social media for the main purposes of building better relationships with the users of the Company Group’s official social media accounts and conducting promotions, communication activities, announcements, and public relations activities.
1. Social Media
Social Media means the Internet services that allow individuals to send information using the Internet and the ICT technology, and at the same time allow an unspecified number of individuals to exchange information.
2. The Company’s Official Accounts
The Company’s Official Accounts mean the accounts listed in the following (List of the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts) stipulated by the Company.
3. Fan Registration
Fan Registration depends on the service, and here it refers to the following actions:
・Facebook: [Like!] a page
・YouTube: Subscribe a channel
・Twitter: Follow an account
・LinkedIn: Follow a page
・Instagram: Follow an accout

(1)The Company shall not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, truthfulness, legality, purposefulness, etc., of comments posted by users. The Company shall not be responsible for any damages to the users or any third party caused by this information.
(2)The user guarantees to the Company that all data such as texts, images, videos, etc., posted by the user does not infringe any rights such as intellectual property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, honor rights, etc., of others. The Company shall not be responsible for any damages to other users or any third party, or any infringements or disputes caused by the posted data.
(3)The Company may suspend, stop or terminate the operation of the Company’s Social Networking Services (SNS) without prior notice. The Company shall not be responsible for any damages due to changing, adding, suspending or terminating the operation of the Company’s SNS.
(4)The Company shall not be responsible for any damages caused by trouble between users or between users and any third party that occurs on the Company’s SNS.
(5)The Company shall not be responsible for any damages caused by harmful programs, etc., such as computer viruses.
Information and Requests for all Users of the Company’s Official Social Media Accounts
・In principle, the Company will not reply to any questions or comments.
・Please note that the information stated in the Company Group’s official accounts does not necessarily express the official announcements or positions of the Company. For statements on official announcements or positions, please check the Company Group’s website and news releases.
・The contents of the Company Group’s Official Accounts may be changed or deleted without prior notice.
・As social media users, by registering as fans of the Company Group’s Official Accounts, it is considered that users are granting the Company access to their disclosed information (your public profile including user name, gender, age, pictures, user ID, friend list, etc.).
・All copyrights of information and services provided by the Company through social media are owned by the Company and are protected by the applicable laws including copyright laws. These may not be reposted, reproduced, printed or distributed without permission, except in cases when they are recognized by the applicable laws including copyright laws, such as in private use or quoting. The Company shall not be responsible for any damages caused by their use.
・Please note that, in order to improve communication in the official accounts, the Company Group may delete posts where any of the following actions is discovered.
(1)Identifying, disclosing, or leaking personal information of a third party without the authorization of the person the information is about
(2)Causing any damages to the Company Group or any other third party
(3)Falsifying information provided by the Company Group
(4)Actions that have no relationship to the Company, with the purpose of making profit without the approval of the Company Group
(5)Infringing the copyrights or intellectual property rights of the Company Group or any other third party
(6)Slandering, defaming, or damaging the honor or reputation of the Company Group or any other third party
(7)Violating laws and regulations or public order and morals, or providing information that violates them
(8)Election campaigns, religious activities or similar actions
(9)Interfering with the operation of the Company Group Official Accounts
(11)Making posts that have no relationship to the purpose of the Company Group’s Official Accounts
(12)Other actions that the Company Group judges to be inappropriate
Revision or Abolition of this Policy
Please note that part or all of this policy may be changed or abolished without prior notice to the users.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This policy is governed by the laws of Japan, and the Tokyo District Court or the Tokyo Summary Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction with respect to any dispute that arises regarding the Company page.
